The Big Bend Lookout at Arrowhead Provincial Park is a very short walk from the parking lot near Roe Campground. The short trail takes you to a deck with spectacular views of the surrounding countryside and a look into a geological feature left over from the ice age - an exposed river delta.

Nestled within the vast confines of Arrowhead Provincial Park lies Big Bend Lookout - a vantage point that gives photographers an unparalleled view of a sweeping bend in the river. In the image, the clear waters reflect the sky, winding gracefully through a dense forest. On a sunny day, puffy white clouds dance in the blue expanse above.

Stubb's Falls Trailhead: This Stubb's Falls trailhead starts at the parking lot directly after the Park's store (up the small hill).This trailhead adds a bit more distance and elevation to the hike and follows the Hardwood Ridge Trail. This is the way I hiked to Stubb's Falls and the Big Bend Lookout, so when I describe this trail I'll be talking from this perspective.

Big Bend Lookout has large sand slopes along the outside of the curve, cut by the current, while sand is deposited on the inside of the curve as the water slows and the sediment falls out of the water. Erosion of the outer bend forces the park to move the lookout back from the edge each year.
